Princeville Homecoming

Princeville Homecoming celebrates the strength, pride, and resilience of a community that has endured for generations. Families, neighbors, and visitors gather each year to honor the town's history and carry forward the legacy of those who built Princeville on the banks of the Tar River. Princeville holds a unique place in history as the first municipality in the United States incorporated by freed Black Americans after emancipation. This year's event brings the community together for an afternoon of food, fellowship, entertainment, and celebration, featuring a complimentary meal from Gage's House of Smoke while supplies last, sweet treats, speakers, music, and dancing, plus games, crafts, children's activities, and local vendors. The event will also include a special update on the Princeville Heritage Trail Expansion, with Toole Design on site to share progress and gather community feedback on the project's next phase.
